Establishing a platform for technology is important in your office. It make your everyday task easier and expands you ability to produce personally as well as professionally. As technology evolves we have the ability to take the information we use with us. The platform you choose will determine how easy it is to move between the different computing devices on a daily basis.
In the past we have had basically two platforms or OS's to choose from, Windows and Apple. The main devices were a desktop or a laptop. Because of the rapidly changing industry of mobile computing these two devices are becoming archaic. The up and coming devices for computer are cell phones and tablet computers. I predict in the next five years they will become our predominate means of accessing the internet. The operating systems that these devices use may be between the old standard Win or IOS but there are a lot of competitors that are up and coming that have actually bypassed the Big 2. I will spend the next fess entries discussing all of the devices and platforms. I will begin with a modestly know favorite Palm and WebOS and us it as the benchmark to measure others by. My intention is to start from the basics so those who are following this blog can slowly develop the information base to make a decision in their office and personal life to either start using or extend their use of technology
